Biography and background.

I have been freelancing since 2011, producing copy on a wide rage of subjects for a number of business clients. I have been editor of the quarterly journal 'Liverpool Family Historian' since December 2012 and have had articles published in a number of family history publications. I am also a Fellow of the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (RSA) and a member of the Royal Historical Society (RHS).

Before this I spent more than 30 years in government service, rising to a senior level in one of the UK government's key economic ministries. Here I developed formal writing skills to a high level - everything from business cases to formal reports and speech-writing for Ministers and other senior officials.

I continue to maintain a strong interest in business, enterprise and a wide range of public policy matters. Over the years I have built-up an excellent reputation not only for my written work but for my ability to engage with my customers and for my knowledge of business and enterprise matters.

I have had a lifelong interest in genealogy and social history - spending what little spare time I have researching, reading and writing on these subjects.
