What you need to know, about how I work.

Communication - In general, projects will be handled entirely by e-mail, postal mail, and telephone.

Contract - A contract is required for all projects. Work on a project cannot begin until I receive a signed contract.

Payment - My fee is payable using a bank account or credit card through PayPal, or the client can send a cheque or money order through postal mail. Whichever method the client uses, work on the project will not begin until receipt of the agreed payment.

Payment Terms - My fee is payable 50% in advance, with the balance due on completion of the project. The client can cancel the project at any time.

Additional Charges - Where travel is needed for either meetings with the client or to undertake research required by the client, travel/subsistence costs will be agreed in advance on a case-by-case basis against my basic rates (available on request). With the exception of any travel and subsistence costs, there are no other additional charges to the client other than those agreed to in the contract. I absorb the cost of telephone calls, photocopies, and postage and do not charge clients for these expenses.

Fees - Projects are billed against my standard day rate but may be billed at an hourly rate (according to the amount of minutes and hours I work on the project) or by project (including 3 edits) and include research, background reading, and interviews.

Refunds - I am unable to provide refunds. I will work with a client before the start of the project to ensure the information I provide is satisfactory.

Revisions - Revisions are free provided they are (a) assigned within 30 days of receipt of copy and (b) not based on changes in the project made after the contract is agreed.

Preferences - I reserve the right to decline any project offer without giving reasons for my decision.
